How does one become more naively optimistic?
Read more sci fi. Many of the things we think are major problems are unanimously “solved” in sci fi books - such as the fact that ~all sci fi books have extremely dense housing.

Asimov's foundation series is faster paced and worth a read whether or not you're looking for sci-fi. Initial books are broken up into short stories.
