I’ve been as clear as I possibly can be that I agree with everything Zack says. it’s also not the long term question - you could make exactly the same point about Apple in the late 70s and early 80s. the question was not whether PCs become a thing, but who won from that.
Benedict has said something along the line of "it's more clear that all of the current auto manufacturers are Nokia than it is that Tesla is Apple." I agree, with the caveat that Tesla isn't necessarily the Apple of *autonomous cars*. I do think they are Apple of "normal" cars.
