Seems odd to me that the pro-Kavanaugh arguments are centered around 'beyond a reasonable doubt.' The burden should be extremely high to deprive someone of their liberty. Seems like the bar could be considerably lower for appointing someone to a position.
I think the counterpoint would be that no candidate will ever again approach 100% because of opposition tactics.

True. But I’m sure we can find someone who can avoid being shifty under questioning and maybe doesn’t have any assault allegations in their past. That’s not too hard a bar.
