"Beyond a reasonable doubt" is the standard for criminal law. "Propensity of the evidence" often used in civil suits. There are many standards. People who don't realize this are just ignorant.
FWIW I agree the standard for conviction of murder is not the right one to use for elected officials.
A lifetime position who’s primary qualification is judgment.
