We’ve been heading toward this showdown since Garland. It’s a matter of time before someone openly defies the court, citing illegitimacy. I used to assume Exec branch would enforce in that situation — not sure that’s a safe assumption anymore (and not just bc of Trump).
All politics and opinions aside, there’s a very good chance that we’re about to find out what happens when half the country believes that a Russian agent gave a rapist a lifetime position in the nation’s most powerful governmental body.
