At best, the author admits to undermining an elected president when they personally decide they are unfit for office, but goes with the flow for tax cuts and then through contorted logic, geniuely believes they are an unsung hero, instead of an opportunistic traitor
There’s a more plausible explanation, which can be found by asking the question: who benefits from a ‘treasonous’ op-ed getting published?
