How do you end up with any free cash flow without the concept of profit?!...you must have gross profit to have free cash flow??!....also we "must" do nothing...if you want to change metrics organizations you work with then ok...but miss me with that authoritarian language.

I’m not entirely sure. For very heavy CAPEX businesses (Heavy manufacturing, textile factories), cash flow may work for a while but Depreciation acts like a great dampner from getting carried away. If it’s only cash flow, how do u account for amortisation? (Not sure / so asking)

If you're profitable, you get to keep playing. If you're not, you don't. It's really that simple. Unless you're a government. Then you can steal (tax) and print to make up the shortfall.
