I can’t find any of my old tweets about this, but I thought Carl Icahn was an idiot for wanting to split up eBay and PayPal in 2014. That turned out to be a very stupid take in hindsight. Actually, it was a stupid take even based on the information I had at the time.

Agree, but the difference here is that there really wasn't a solid, logical reason to keep them together - and eBay was actively harming PayPal.

Yeah, I agree. Icahn was right to get in there. AWS / Retail might be worth more separate but AWS is not being mismanaged inside Amazon like PayPal was
