I would hire an English major over a business major any day of the week. I’ll bite. Success you’re attributing to writing is probably due to strong thinking *demonstrated* by writing. Writing ability is neither a necessary nor sufficient condition for having thoughts worth writing down.
I agree - it isn’t necessary to be successful in business. I do think it’s hard to be really successful in business without being great at one method of communication. And with the rise of email, great writing is an unfair advantage.
