    you know what's crazy? my dad made this argument, that it was only people with underlying health conditions at risk. but dad, i said. *you* have underlying health conditions. anyway, now he's fucking dead from covid so hopefully others can learn from his stupid example.

    What the CDC Director said about deaths from COVID disease today - that most take place in people who have other health conditions, & that's "good news" for those of us who don't - isn't spin-able. It disqualifies her from leading the nation's primary agency for DISEASE CONTROL.

    Drug courts… why are judges tasked with “treating” addiction?

    "If you don't get a hold on your drug problem, you'll end up committing property crimes and go to the penitentiary." Says the judge who sanctioned me for every tx group I missed after tx said I couldn't come if I didn't have 24 hours "clean," which lost me my job.

    If only suing these companies actually translated into better public health policy, or better health infrastructure. So far, lawyers & witnesses profit handsomely, and plaintiffs/victims walk away empty handed.

    The county with the worst drug overdose rate in the country is attempting to prosecute the massive companies that fueled its crisis.

    Just learned a young guy in Chicago died of a fentanyl overdose. His friends knew him to only use cocaine, and they suspect his cocaine maybe had fentanyl in it. For now all they can do is speculate. What a disaster. Losing so many people to this.
