Without a mobile OS/phone, the future of AR glasses for Microsoft was always challenging. While Android may be its current best bet, it's also not obvious what Microsoft gets from this Samsung partnership. And what about a cloud-based MR Windows device?

Just this week I've discovered three new ways the Surface Duo 2 is helping me be more productive. This time with spanned Google apps! Maps, Photos, and Calculator all working great with dual screens. 📱📱

Google Maps spanned on a Surface Duo 2 in street view displays your ground level view on the left and your map and direction on the right. This enables you to have a great view on the street whilst more effectively controlling your orientation and navigation.
Google Photos spanned on a Surface Duo 2 in search places displays your heat map of photo locations on the left and your photos captured in that area on the right. This enables you to more effectively browse, sort, and share your photos.
Calculator spanned on a Surface Duo 2 in compose mode can show input buttons on the bottom screen and the display and calculation history on the top screen. This presents larger controls and allows you to refer back to your history helping you calculate more efficiently. It could also be used sitting on a table open like a laptop.
