    Just In: There were 1.4 million *new* unemployment applications -- a huge jump after the holidays. This is worth watching. It could just be people waited to file until January or it could indicate more layoffs. Overall, 18.4 million Americans are on unemployment

    Crow is right. Numerous House Rs have received death threats in the past week, and I know for a fact several members *want* to impeach but fear casting that vote could get them or their families murdered. Not spinning or covering for anyone. Just stating the chilling reality.

    One thing I cannot stop thinking about: If not for the pandemic, the U.S. Capitol would have been absolutely packed with more media, visitors, lawmakers' families, tour groups, school children. It could be so much worse.
