Mysticism is a dead-end street.

Meister Eckhart is a Christian mystic. The two aren’t mutually exclusive
-
Agreed. Meister Eckhart is well worth listening to and mysticism is interesting in as far as mystics realize that the immediately given reality is lost. For this reason, I think most thoughtful people have been attracted to mysticism at some point.
-
But ultimately I think mysticism does not really do justice to what the human being is.
-
For this reason I do actually think mysticism and Christianity are mutually exclusive. But I am of course well aware that in the course of history there have been many "mystic" interpretations of Christianity - all are a misunderstanding, as I see it.

“I actually self-identify as a shaman”
-
Mysticism is a form of interacting with information. Shamanism is assuming magical prestige. Identifying with one of these is much more presumptuous than with the other.pic.twitter.com/JdrRZpAwy3

The magical prestige granted to the shamanic figure serves a collective function, and is not a self-decided role. Thus the joke, I self-identify as a shaman. You don’t get to choose whether or not you’re receptive to information. You can only decide to take responsibility for it.

Tbh I didn’t get the context
