Blockchain is hyped to replace central, #trusted institutions. We should instead ask: Under which conditions could the #decentralized and #disintermediated blockchain tech fill in / structure the space where no centralized institutions emerged in the first place.
Interesting approach. One I can think of is newly legalized industries like marijuana within certain American states. Or data collection/management for psychedelic usage that is just gaining fda approval for therapeutic use.

Lack of regulatory clarity is preventing marijuana cos from adopting according to my friend who runs one. "Grey area + grey area = black"

I can see that. I came across a marijuana supply chain company tracing product from growers(inclusive with testing results) to retail, with collaborative reporting to regulators. Would be great to see this on the blockchain rather than replacing ERP systems in other industries.

Welp the calimexican cartels were doing pretty good (from their point of view) as centralized institutions on the firstmarket. Same burning man and any other psytrance enclave for administrating psychedelics :p
