My statement on the Assembly’s decision not to impeach Governor Andrew Cuomo. By letting Governor Cuomo avoid accountability for his misconduct, the Assembly failed its moral and constitutional duty to New Yorkers.

‘Attention-seeking’ is such a specific and sexist slur. It’s almost always used attack women and queer people. It relies on the cultural assumption that women, girls and LGBT people should stay small and silent and compliant and never draw attention to themselves.

How is this false? First thing about my bill is to make sure there was less means testing to get the money out faster. Landlords kept saying they wanted means testing because some people can pay. We didn’t want anything to hold up the money because we saw folks struggling.

Did you know being evicted makes you more likely to end up in the criminal system? We need a right to counsel in housing court. Let public defenders fight eviction & lower the number of people in the criminal legal system to begin with. .

If we just cancelled rent last year, we wouldn't be in this situation.

Beyond upsetting. So many of us who worked at ABC during this era sometimes joke we have PTSD. I'm losing track of the number of sexual assaults, and these are just the ones that have been reported...and doesn't include other abuses we endured.

Uh. We are. ERAP has 2.6 billion dollars in it for landlords. And we wanted to pay everyone’s rent but folks didn’t want us to remember? We said the less cumbersome the application the faster money would go out. We said we should have less means testing. But nope.

New Yorkers can complete applications for rental assistance here: Funding is available and we want to make sure everyone who needs rent relief can get it.

The Supreme Court's appalling and insensitive ruling eliminates a key line of defense for tenants, and we are exploring all options to protect New Yorkers from eviction. New Yorkers should complete & submit their applications for eviction protection immediately. This is urgent.
