    日本学術会議関連で最近話題の防衛装備庁の研究予算、AIの基礎研究とかなら自分のプロジェクトでも出せるものがないかと思って調べてみたけど、日本国内に所在する研究機関からしか応募できない。プロポーザルも事務も当然とは言え全部日本語だし、無理だ🤑

    思ったほど中国からの博士号取得者が増えていない。10年で倍以上くらいにはなったかと思っていた。それとも、2009年までに既に激増していたということだろうか。

    世界中からの学生がしのぎを削るアメリカの大学での博士号取得者も10年で半分以下になっています。他のいくつかの国も減っていますが、割合としては微減で、これらTop10以外の国からの人数が増えているからと思われます。

    ありがとうございます。ということは、先生のお考えでは統計的因果推論を用いた研究は実証主義的な研究には属さないということでしょうか。処置変数の変化がなければ因果効果が同定されませんので、その種の研究は本質的に変化を説明するものと考えているのですが。

    さっきも書いたけどもう一度。実証主義的な研究はどうして現状に至ったのかを説明するものなので、変化を説明するのは苦手。地域研究などでもこの傾向はあって、例えば体制が維持されている理由は説明できるけど、崩壊は上手く予測できなかったりする。有名な事例はソ連の崩壊ですね。

    日本において「政治科学的な研究」と分類されうる研究に従事する者の1人として、私は木村先生のご主張には証拠がないという批判を申し上げました。ご貴殿には私の批判を「ツイッターのつぶやきにもデータが必要」という趣旨であると解する自由がおありで、それによって得られる評価もあるでしょう。

    少なくとも「政治学がツイッター上のつぶやきにもデータを求めることが当然の学問である」と貴殿が考えていることが周知されただけっでも、意味があるやり取りだったと思いますよ。

    この点については既にご説明したので繰り返しません。

    まあそのデータが、貴殿の知っている限りにおいては現状では存在しないことも明言されてましたからね、木村先生の言説も完全に否定はできないということでしょう。 どうしても否定なさりたければ、そのデータをご自分で作ればよろしい。シンプルな話です。

    そのことは私についても、また木村先生についても同様に当てはまります。私自身は、ある種の研究について特定の傾向を証拠なしに論じることは自身の評判を毀損するので愚行であると考え、そのような行為を批判することを愚行であるとは考えないような一群の研究者のコミュニティに属しています。
