I'm interested in this for a few reasons: - Erlang is the backbone of telephony, is known for reliability and actor based. - It's a fun departure from traditional transform-based systems. - Apparently it's rather resource efficient. https://www.techempower.com/benchmarks/#section=data-r15&hw=ph&test=plaintext&o=6 …

Final thing I like about it so far: it's using traits to define behavior. Generally trait-based APIs feel the most rust-like, so I'm really interested in how this will play out.

Okay, so turns out Actix even while Actix is an actor framework, Actix-Web is used for HTTP. Strangely enough Actix-Web goes back again to just using regular transform functions. Data comes in on one end, data goes out on the other end. Guess transforms just makes sense here.

yeah I have used actix-web for a small project. its nice and easy to start with. The only issue i had is that there are too many ways to do one thing

yeah, I see where you're coming from. Some other nits: - wish there was a way to generate docs - the logger is kind of confusing - route params -> handler arguments mapping isn't checked at compile time - hostname is untyped But overall still the best experience I've had!

Just create issues and I’ll try to address them or at least describe discitions behind current behavior

Hey hey, didn't expect an actix maintainer to pop up in here! Hope I didn't come off too negatively. Actix is genuinely the best experience I've had with HTTP in Rust so far. Thanks for the work you've done!

No worries. I am very interested in any experience with actix, even if it is negative so I can make it better
