Final thing I like about it so far: it's using traits to define behavior. Generally trait-based APIs feel the most rust-like, so I'm really interested in how this will play out.

Okay, so turns out Actix even while Actix is an actor framework, Actix-Web is used for HTTP. Strangely enough Actix-Web goes back again to just using regular transform functions. Data comes in on one end, data goes out on the other end. Guess transforms just makes sense here.
