      I always hit the spam button on these - EU law dictates that in order to be subscribed to a mailing list you must give explicit consent. If they start being recognized up as a known spam source, at the very least they'll have a problem on their hands.

      While I understand your frustration, this doesn’t really fall under that law in my opinion. It’s someone using their platform sending a message to you through their platform. At least it’s nice they have a clear opt out of future messages button

      Except it's not a person inviting you to something, but a commercial entity that's put you on a mailing list without consent. That's covered by current EU spam laws. Unsolicited email sent in bulk is literally the definition of spam.

      ohhh, sorry - so someone you know invited you to join their network? One off emails should be fine then, but they have no authority to sign you up for a mailing list (which is then automated, as in: sent by the company). Not in the past, but definitely not under GDPR.

          yea mate, this is the same person that invited me too. and i don't know them. they've just sent me a recruiting email 6 months ago and i never replied to them. i am annoyed at both the blockchain thing, and random people who i don't know inviting me.
