- In practice you rarely need to use any of the lifetime stuff. Don't worry about getting it right the first time.
- Don't worry about threads / parallelism. Single threaded Rust is blazing fast, and there's plenty to learn already!
- Don't be shy to pop into #rust on IRC!

Last tips for now: - if you can get clippy to run, it can be super helpful to learn from! - rustfmt can save a lot of time typing (and can be configured to not use 4 spaces) - if you're into WASM, check out wasm-pack

It's funny, I don't even think of Rust as a remotely OO language. It feels like Haskell to me with all the type class stuff going on. I guess I just picked that perspective because it made it easier to relate to for me, and I can definitely see where you're coming from.

Hehe, yeah - I very much meant it as: "if you're coming from JS, then getting comfy with adding methods to data is probably a good place to start!" :D
