ohhh we had it, for a long time actually, it was bad. Callback pattern you'd see everywhere: function(err, res) { if (err) { return ... } // expected flow here

Thank you for expressing it, also I didn't do well explaining why it's bad. In repeated structures like endpoint handlers I'd rather have a single catch on the router level that knows how to handle common errors. Specific try/catch are still possibly, but less needed
