The biggest blocker rn for me is that I'm not comfortable doing WebGL. I should probably learn WebGL.

What are you wanting to get out of knowing WebGL? The API and data munging, making art, math, geometry? It's such a broad field.

Ah cool, that's mainly data munging and API stuff. Canvas 2d will be decently quick there, although hit me up if you need anything on the learning side, would be happy to point to useful resources. I'm always looking for YouTube material to produce on graphics.

What does "data munging" mean? Is that like transforming data? Was thinking I should start with rectangles and then work from there haha.

Sorry, I probably made up that word, but I do mean transforming data, e.g packing into ArrayBuffers. Rects are a great place to start!
