how have we still not figured out reliable, multi-user video calls?
UDP (read: 0RTT packets) in the browser would help a lot. Would prevent unreliable connections from congesting the network with retries.
Until then we gotta deal with TCP continuously retrying stale data, I guess

big big :true: ^ . in any other VoIP app there is no such thing as retries, bc the result is garble anyway. The biggest thing keeping videoconf apps from performing well is lack of sensible tradeoffs in the design as conditions change (more connections, worse links etc)
