Electron makes me so sad. PWAs kind of drive the point home: just run an "app" that, say, is nothing more than a webserver (for localhost) that opens a tab. 98% of uses of Electron are pointless murderers of memory & disk space.
Were still missing a few primitives in the browser in regards to storage & networking. Electron apps can't quite be replaced by PWAs... yet.

The "application" would be a mini-webserver that does the application stuff. Only interface to the application would be via it, serving on localhost.
