I really with Lenovo would release Linux drivers for the fingerprint reader tho. Open source would be ideal, but binary would do too. It's a shame we cant use it right now.

Actually you "can". The two solutions I know of are fprint and ThinkFinger. On my E470 I was able to make fprint work (not thinkfinger), even to login in the tty1, but I found it suuper buggy

Yeah, I've heard similar stories. It's nowhere near as reliable as it should be, which isn't great as a login method
