Why not nixos? your i3 setup would be fully reproducible on nixos :)
I think the three things I'm most stoked about right now are: 1. My fridge (delicious & cold). 2. My backpack (traveling made easier). 3. My laptop (can I interest u in arch Linux?).

NixOS is a great idea, but the execution doesn't work well with the way I work. By comparison, Arch seems more pragmatic in design. Having familiar tools is pretty great!

Silly question but why arch over Ubuntu?

Ubuntu is easier to get started with. Arch is simpler in its design. I wanted to understand Linux better, so Arch is a great way to learn :D Oh, I'm also really impressed by pacman (the install tool).
