I know systemd is a highly debated topic, but coming from OSX, being able to interact with your system as a cohesive whole is, like, pretty amazing. So far using Linux is all definitely feeling like an upgrade, haha.

Heh, yeah, systemd - what I've found is that a vocal minority likes to complain that it's against the "Unix philosophy" while most of us are just happy we don't have to learn to configure wpa_supplicant to connect to wifi etc etc anymore.
