I think part of why I'm so giddy about Linux right now, is that for the first time ever I'm seeing my laptop from a perspective of "a bunch of sensors mounted on top of a battery, with a display attached". It's replacing magic with knowledge. And knowledge inspires confidence.
I mean: if I can get this big bulk of sensors to do exactly what I want it to, what's stopping me from doing the same to a bunch of other hardware? I'm becoming less afraid of the tools I use, and that's a pretty amazing feeling!
