I mean: if possible use the browser's built-in form validation, rather than a 3rd party library (or rolling your own). It's hard to get right, and chances are things like accessibility are glossed over in favor of getting things to work at all.

Oh no, there's like way more you can do. Validate input types, file types, length, required, max length, min length, the works - even custom error messages using native APIs. There's few reasons to roll your own these days.
