What's your take on docker at the moment for making sure your linux os version is the same as a production? You don't want to re-install desktop linux for each different production app you make.

Understood, but if the turn to linux is partially motivated by practicalities of establishing parity with dev and prod linux environments, how else are you doing this, LXC?

Haha, no — so like building things with all deps included is mostly what you need. The amount of apps that can't do this is minimal.
