(All of this is because I tried install GRUB, then tried installing GRUB on XFS. Don't do that. Trying was fun tho!)
Okay, adding some programming languages. Rust was quite easy: `pacman -S rustup`. Node, not so much. nvm is an AUR package, so gotta figure out how that works now.

Also lol, this is me procrastinating from figuring out how to setup X. I have no browser, no gui. Just me and my terminal. And wifi at work, somehow! :D

(I decided not to use Wayland quite yet, because I want to make things pretty and i3 is X only it seems. It's supposed to be a work machine, haha)

Okay fine, Twitter talked me into using Wayland anyway. Got Sway on Wayland working. Halfway through install Alacritty. Kinda want to figure out locales and fonts first tho, cause the default font 'n brightness is giving me a headache. But success so far! :D

Yay, my computer's fans are spinning! Compiling a terminal seems to get it going :D

Hah, there's a Rust compiler warning it got stuck on for a while. Got me worried, but got past it! Yay, seems I have a fast terminal now!

Swoosh, got Firefox working now too! Well, sorta. Gotta figure out how to actually connect it to the internet hahapic.twitter.com/c2BgBsTon4

Booop, so ly is a pretty neat program. Small, no-frills login manager written in C. The cool thing about Linux is that everything can be replaced. I bet writing a login manager in Rust would be a fun side project :Dhttps://github.com/cylgom/ly

Oh by the way, not sure if I mentioned it here — but this is what I'm striving for as my initial terminal lookhttps://gfycat.com/WellgroomedHeavenlyIggypops …

haven't used arch in ages, but node and npm should be in repos. installing nvm from aur is easy too. try 'yaourt -S nvm', need to install yaourt (and 'base-devel' to actual build the package)
-
Yeah, might give yaourt a shot C:
