Uhhh, ok. Dilemma time. IE10 has like ~3-5% market share. Should be supported by general purpose tools, even if it significantly impacts the experience on all other browsers?

Thought process: tech literate people with money upgrade devices and get new browsers. Tech illiterate people without money continue using old browsers. By dropping support for old browsers, you disproportionately target tech illiterate low income people.
Ya, this is my feels too. I kinda feel that if we support Apple browsers, we must also support MS browsers — can imagine computers in libraries not necessarily running Chrome

I wonder what resource consumption for IE11 vs new Firefox release is. Maybe a popup along the lines of “You don’t need to buy new hardware, just install this”?

Though this is equating rendering perf with resource consumption. May not be practical on old hardware? Would have to find a laptop to test.
