So many 'developer-focused' tools are only available for macOS. It feels a bit odd often.
Yeah; this is where Electron shines tbh. Kinda excited for the native framework follow-up theyre working on — should tackle perf issues :D

Electron has issues on FreeBSD though, but can't have it all always...

I'm quite convinced if more FreeBSD people got involved with Electron, the support might get there — that's how it worked for Node too! :D

Wouldn't even have to be electron. Could just be a webapp? Didn't someone build a JS only git and JSONP could do github API?

We'll GitHub refused to add CORS headers to their https git endpoints. I seriously doubt they will add JSONp.
