/r/node is not a good place. Racism, sexism - people that hang out there are not what the Node community should be.

Disagree. Topics of this nature always invite trolls. But most /r/node discussions occurring on this topic are reasonable and well-balanced.
Given that there's little push back from within /r/node whenever stuff like this goes down, means the people hanging out there are garbage
