I dig GraphQL as an idea - it deffo makes APIs easier to evolve. Legit wish that composing queries on the client was easier tho.

I mean this from an implementers perspective. It requires shipping a GraphQL parser / encoder to the client; inefficient & tricky

Does it? With persisted static queries you can strip out nearly all client overheard at build time

True. So why not a simple .json (or .yml or..) with the empty fields that get filled magically with the data I need. That would be awesome.
