Has anyone ever created a shared object between two v8 instances? Using shared memory, not like sync RPC with getters/setters

Would require('net').createServer && require('net').Socket work for you? And if is not would just a service like Redis just work for it?

Haha, no I'm talking like actual shared, mutable memory - but with the API of a regular JS Object

I don't think that's possible, but you might prove me wrong. Although if you were capable of that, it might raise some security concerns.

Definitely possible. There are plenty of shm modules like https://www.npmjs.com/package/node-shm-buffer … for example

I tried one (can't remember which) for x11 mit-shm extension for node-x11 and that worked well

Ohh, yeah - actually a shared buffer might just be all we need - from there keep state in two objects in sync by sending signals on change
