Upsides of C: easy to read, good ecosystem (yay, kernels), lots of docs, ABI. Downsides: ohno header files, segfaults, build process, macros

haha, well I think it's pretty good - header files are weird, but .c files not so much (obvious there's always exceptions but errr yeah)
