@yoshuawuyts so I'm new to js on the server and I made a merry app (yay!) but I don't understand how to start the server in the bg

You probably want to run it in a separate tab, using nodemon it'll restart whenever you change your source :D

I think so maybe! That would make the server start in the bg when I deploy to heroku then? I should just try it I think

I think on Heroku you should add a start command to a Procfile. Like 'npm start' or something. Sorry to jump in, merry is rad!
