ok, so far in Chrome it appears using setTimeout(fn, 0) asap is the only reliable way to make sure input events don't cause frames to drop

ya think I've used that to hack on iframe rpc once, been a year so not entirely sure anymore haha - thought it had cool properties

I think if you post on the local window, it’s async asap but doesn’t bypass the event queue. Might be a good fit for your case.
