To be in touch with real users! I agree, but the screen real-estate is a tiny concern for me.

I could probably get by fine with the m7/8gb, but multiple webpacks + atom windows + chrome tabs might suck

"might" is key here - you're a person that builds tooling, understanding what avg devs experience is crucial @martinvandriel

did you stick with Chrome on the 12" or switch to Safari for the lighter tab cost

I'm quite reliant on chrome tbh, still get a good ~5hrs of battery out of it when building stuff generally (: @martinvandriel
