IOW: I find the word ”use” slightly misleading in this context.
"misleading" implies there's some bad intent - perhaps @nzgb is just thinking out loud as he tries to make sense of it all?

I’m using “misleading” as synonym for ”giving the wrong impression” (not for ”deceptive”). No bad intent implied at all!
