An interesting consideration for SSR is that if the result is not cacheable you expose more surface area for DDoS attacks to happen

I have cases where just a spike in traffic could cause serious issues on non-cached ssr pages.

yeah it's scary; I've encountered instances where even seasoned devs waved cacheability as a non-concern

think super heavy SSR would only work well in face of DDoS if there's a way to blacklist on IP level - captcha's not enough
