they are wicked fast. But flatbuffers are the next big thing. Data access without decoding.
ah like cap'n proto and stuff? - thought the zero copy stuff didn't work well with Node because no FFI

it builds Js on top of ArrayBuffers. If you don't need the full data structure at once, it's magical.
