Maybe the way to get people aboard the streams train is to make them build a state machine by hand first, and switch to streams bit by bit

having to pick through 3 versions, and learning out how to decipher between the different versions in user land doesn't help
oh wasn't talking Node streams specifically, meant it more like "the concept of streams" - agree Node streams is problematic
