      Browserify has >40 direct deps IIRC. Can you COPY node_modules in addition to package.json? Often like to do that anyway.

      Ain't nothin' wrong with committing node_modules. Otherwise: More RAM. You're asking npm to do a lot with leftovers of 512MB.
