I'm thinking about ideas for how to recognize excellence in the Node.js community -- what do folks think of community awards?

Reward people for thankless work, small monetary award, recognize contributions and efforts that people don't know about
ah yeah, I appreciate the idea behind it - gut feeling that awards might not be the best means to an end tho
