how does babel break javascript?

Babel doesn't make you use JSX. Thats a setting to turn on or off
babel also doesn't make you use ES6, like with anything babel it's fully opt-in; but it's there and widely used

same with Flow and Typescript. I think these tools benefit us rather than hurt JS.
