so the reason I was getting weird triples *wasn't* autoconf — it's Alpine purposely passing a nonstandard triple (armv6-linux-…, not armv6l)

@yoshuawuyts I kinda cheat there because my apk is in the Nix store, but if you're on Alpine already you don't need to chroot
@FrozenFire now this is exactly what I hoped you'd have 
also setting up Nix so being able to look at this is def helpful
