I can't consider that word outside the context of English and Ehrenreich's "Witches, Midwives and Nurses," which revealed to me the insidious foundations of our "professional" medical institutions. In the asymmetrical power hierarchy of a private firm, we share the boss' view.

I like this, but also "professionalism" to me is very centred on whiteness and middle-classness. Not sure how to reconcile these.
