This is from someone who has investigated learning languages thing quite a bit (I have read tons of published research about this): spaced repetition helps to an extent. Mnemonics have quite hard scaling limits.

Both work the best for skills you use conscious thought for. That means, that they are by no means a way to get _fluent_. But they may help you get started.

What kind of Mnemonics are you using and what languages? I've found that just building connections between the languages I already know (4 at the moment) helped me learn languages that I was studying
